Frost/Nixon by Peter Morgan is a gripping political drama that brings to the stage one of the most famous televised confrontations of the 20th century.
In the spring of 1977, British television presenter David Frost (Giorgos Anagiotos) meets former President of the United States Richard Nixon (Varnavas Kyriazis), a few years after the Watergate scandal and the American president’s resignation. What begins as a television interview evolves into an incisive psychological portrait of power: a relentless duel between truth and legacy.
Frost is seeking the major journalistic scoop that will define his career. Nixon, an experienced politician and formidable orator, attempts to control the conversation and shape the way history will remember him. Between them unfolds a game of strategy in which every question, every pause and every answer has the potential to shift the balance of power.
Drawing on a real historical event, Peter Morgan creates a play that transcends the boundaries of political biography. Frost/Nixon explores power and responsibility, public image and personal truth, journalism and manipulation, as well as the human desire to leave behind one’s own version of history.
On stage, the interview becomes a high-stakes theatrical confrontation. Two men from different backgrounds, each armed with different weapons, face off in a struggle to control not only the conversation, but also the narrative itself.
Frost/Nixon is a play about the moment when history is judged before the camera, in a merciless battle of wits over guilt, truth and the power of image.
Audiences are invited to witness this electrifying confrontation up close and discover a play that, although born out of a specific historical event, remains strikingly relevant today: Who controls the narrative? Who has the right to speak about the truth? And who ultimately writes history?
